September 4, 2010 - dAy thiRtY-thREE

saturday was a great day. got up early and went for a run. it was really really cold up there. went out running in shorts and a tank. had i not been running i would have frozen my butt off. came back, showered and found this...

holy cuteness batman. i watched as Sara cut the kids nails. funny that you don't think about things like this if you don't have kids. i don't remember my mom cutting my nails, but then i don't remember cutting them myself either. someone must have cut them right?

and then the food...

yum. i love eggs. the incredible edible. stuffed my face and completely nullified my run and then had a makeover with the girls. they are at the age now where makeup is fun...wait...i'm still at that age...

Bird fished for a while. who am i kidding? he fished all day.

he went out and bought a bucket of live bait but one of them died. the girls buried it on the beach and had a little funeral for the 'poor little fish'.

you can't see it very well, but it says "Fish" and then underneath, "RIP". note, it does not say RIP Fish.

more flowers for the fish...

hell of a burial for a 2 inch minnow. they pretended to cry for while. it was quite a show actually. children can be the most dramatic beings. lol.

everyone put on white tees and jeans and we had a photoshoot since we were all beautified.

then i set a timer and jumped in with them. aren't we cute...

wait for it...wait for it...

maybe my favorite pic of all time. love them.

human quadruple layer sandwich...lol good times

my four favorites.

and our view...

i can't even believe how beautiful this place is sometimes. i love it so much up there. the rest of the day was pretty laxidaisy.

Nathaniel and i drove to Williamsport after pics to go the music store for some guitar picks and classical guitar strings, but it was closed. so we drove on to the smoke shop, but it too was closed. bummer. but we did find another smoke shop called "Puffs". very original. i got some cherry flavored swisher sweets to keep the bugs at bay at our little fire later, and Nathaniel got a cigar (can't remember what it was called, only that it was $6 or $7 or something ridiculous like that), and some cloves for Sara.

we ended the night with a campfire and a game of pictionary.

great day.

friday. though it was not chiday. this did not bother me. Kim and i woke up and decided that friday was a good day for laying out in the sun ALL day-except that i didn't get out of bed 'til about noon. we would have too except that it was really hot. the only HOT day that is for the entire weekend. i took quite a few pictures. Bird finally got there and went swimming. had to try out the new spear gun. couldn't find the wali. we think either they moved on to another part of the crick, or someone else speared them. 'Cause while Kim and i laid out, there was another man spear fishing before Bird got there. this, of course, did NOT make Bird happy. the crick belongs to him ya know...and yes...i said crick. get it right!

it was a lazy afternoon really. i played my guitar for a while after the sun had had enough of me. read some of my rolling stones magazine while Kim took a nap, and patiently waited for the arrival of mom, Fran, Sara, Nathaniel, Frederick, Lydia, Anna, and Boogaloo (Alice). oh...and of course....drank some beer while i waited. what did you expect??

i found a really cool spider web. unfortunately, i could not find the spider...so i put this dead one one it and took it's pic. if i was a spider i would want someone to put me back in my web. it was a huge dead spider. i had inhibitions about it the night before. for some reason it gave me the heebee geebees then. not so this morning.

you can see Bird's snorkel in the backround...

ladies and gentlemen...he speared...a sucker...kinda gross actually...

some random's that were very fascinated about how he 'shot' a fish underwater. they were really nice people actually.

sucker up close and personal. slimey little bugger...

the rapids that are actually quite shallow right now. kinda sad really. you can walk across them, which for those of you who have never been there, is not usually very easy to do if at all possible. the tubes would not pass now. one would most likely just get hung up and flipped over and tossed all about in a very non graceful manner. we did not even try.

good 'ole thursday...and the long ride north. obviously i worked...however, something in my brain has short fired and i've repressed this memory. why does the day before vacation always feel like vacation too...? i checked out on my way in to work. not even really sure i accomplished anything while there. oh well...i have not lost any sleep over this. went home and finished packing and getting ready to leave. Kim patiently waited. it was nice to spend the night with just Kim. We hadn't done that in a while. Bird had to work friday morning and was coming up the next day. Kim and i listened to the music especially loud for the 3 hour journey and then stayed up late watching the first dvd of the first season of NCIS. god i love that show...

i love this ride. it was the only pic that i got thursday. sometimes if i don't stop looking through my camera, i miss the world around me.

wednesday. wednesday was kinda lame. one of those days where you did a lot, but accomplished nothing really. went to work schmirk, had mexican for lunch, which sent me into a complete downward spiral. nothin' like a good food coma. came home from work, fed the dogs and headed out the door for dinner with Bird's mom. and of course, had to turn around half way there because i forgot the wedding pictures...the whole reason for dinner in the first place other then food and the necessity to eat. i wonder how far i would get if my head were not attached. would i wander the streets aimlessly bumping into things? or would i remember my head?...i wonder

anyhow, i was not very motivated to say the least until we got home. i was going to take pics of my packing monstrocity, but i packed rather quickly this time and forgot to photograph along the way. hmph...so i took a pic of one of my hand painted birdhouses from the bridal shower. not sure who painted this one, but it's my favorite!

it's funny really, cause i'm terrified of birds. not a big fan of birds at all really and i married a man nicknamed after them...but i love birdhouses and birdfeeders...really i like to watch them from afar. when they land on my head...then i'm gonna go wacko. chickens on the other hand...i love. hmmmm...i'm a strange little bug. maybe we should just scratch that last paragraph altogether...

tuesdays. i like tuesdays. way better then mondays. woke up this morning and went for a run. i think someone set canon's off under my knee caps. no good. really gonna have to call the orthopedic now. boo. really kinda sucks. came home, made breakfast for myself and headed off to work schmirk. i am setting up an appointment with an advisor within the next couple of weeks. i can no longer put off going to school. i NEED it...and it doesn't look like i'm gonna get that license thing done either...bummer. only have wednesday since we leave for the long weekend in the mountains on thursday. and so far, it doesn't look like that is happening. oh well...one more week procrastinated isn't that bad right? at least i got my car inspected before it was overdue!

anywho, came home from work and Bird cooked the slaughtered rooster. wasn't very good actually. really tough. ended up feeding it to the dogs. they loved it of course. and poor Joepetie's food has been recalled and i couldn't find it anywhere. he's got IBD (irritable bowel disease) and i guess it's time to change foods. his old food was $60 for a 40 lb bag, and the new food is $60 for 18 lbs! do the math here people. i'm gonna go broke trying to keep peace with my dog's stomach...meanwhile...he's doing some serious crop dusting in our house right now and so the chicken was good for him!!

after dinner, cleaned up and went down to the beaver for open mic with Tommy. there were a shit ton of people there for a tuesday night! was fun. didn't have Nicole though so i only did two numbers. i really need to get better at the guitar so i don't need people to play for me. would be much more better.

my favorites!...now if only my hair was as long as theirs...

monday scumday...here we are again. why do monday's always have to ruin perfectly good weekends? even my car was a piece of crap this morning...

woke up late regardless. i was just kinda worthless...kinda like monday is for me. so i didn't take too many pics. i've come to this conclusion that life...at least my life...is full of patterns that i allow to repeat. i'm constantly doing the same things day in and day out. it's really starting to get old. this week, i've decided that i will finally go and get my license updated to reflect my new name, and then start applying for school. i need some change in a desperate way. ...i also need to update my passport with my new name, but am procrastinating this to the max...

my grandmother's quilt. it doesn't matter how bad my day is. i always have this...

sunday funday. and that is exactly what it was! got up nice and late. didn't run this morning. knees felt like they were gonna fall off any moment. did some more laundry and then went down to the car show at ruffini's. lots of fun, lots of beer, lots of people.

just a couple of my faves and the Jeff Washington Band. good times.

we got good and liguored up and then went to mom and dad's for dinner. honestly, i can't remember what we ate...is that terrible? oh well...after dinner met up with Don and then headed out to honeybrook to Kirk's house. drank some more beer (or at least Bird did...i had to drive and didn't want to be hungover for work on monday). good people, good fire, and then some pretty cool fireworks.

went home relatively early. Bird stayed to hang out with friends. i can't hang. i'm lame like that sometimes. sleep calls to me...

August 28, 2010 - dAy tWEnTy-siX

i think i'm starting to confuse myself with numbering. gonna have to work on how to stay ahead of myself. i was doing well in the beginning...but then my laziness set in. i take the pictures everyday, and then i get home and the idea of jumping back on the computer after having been on one all day long kinda turns me off. so sorry if you would like to follow this on a regular basis...it appears i will always be a master procrastinator. but at least i know i'm good at that.

saturday was a really long day. good day, but long just the same. got up and went for a run. not sure why. seems i'll need to make another trip to the orthopedic surg. soon. cortisone and another shot of synvisc (sp?) hopefully. that worked for a good 6 months last time. we'll see. i keep thinking that if i just keep running the pain will go away...to no avail of course. not logical in my thinking at all really. it's just what i keep telling myself. i like to run. and this hinders my mood.

came home from my run and cleaned house some. not the whole house...i had already done that some earlier in the week. straightened, did some laundry, and walked up to Nathaniel & Sara's to 'help' Bird and Nathaniel cut wood. turns out they didn't need me. so i took some pics and then went and got more beer.

view from my walk to Nathaniel & Sara's. Mr. Linch cuttin' hay. it really is pretty here.

anywho, chased some chickens around with Lydia, Dylan, Anna, and Boogaloo (Alice)...

turns out Nathaniel & Sara ended up with some nasty roosters so Sara's brother Jason and Bird took care of them...

this is what happens to roosters that try to eat children and chase neighbors off... i wasn't there to see it and i'll spare all the gory details they passed on to me. not a pleasant thing slaughtering chickens...but then...they weren't very nice roosters.

August 27, 2010 - dAy tWeNty-fiVE

chiday! i definitely ate WAY too much chinese for lunch on friday. surprise surprise. then it gave me heartburn. definitely did not like that. didn't do much friday night. went to ruffini's for hh with Kim and met Tommy, Don, and Jay for a drink. Jay decided to venture down the road with us and we headed off to Jen and Charlie's for quoits. we don't see Jay too much anymore, so that was nice.

he is my little devil, but i love him. sometimes Bird even let's him chew on deer antlers. otherwise we just save them...not sure why...cause the dogs LOVE them...anyone know how to stop that green-eye-thing from happening in dogs and cats while photographing? it's really annoying. gonna have to google it i suppose.

we didn't stay up too late on Friday. we had a long day planned for saturday.
